Our mission is to provide our community with a guilt-free way to shop, so we put the health of our bodies and our environment at the very heart of what we do! This is why we will only ever stock organic and ecologically-sound products in our store.

Choosing organic means you are supporting an agricultural system that harnesses the earth’s natural rhythms by working with existing ecosystems instead of against them. Organic agriculture benefits; our health, the health of our farmer’s, the soil, our water systems and all of the surrounding wildlife and delicate ecosystems!

Organic farms do not use harsh chemical pesticides or fertilisers that upset the balance of nature, instead they rely on crop rotation, natural fertilisers (green manures, such as clover) and they encourage helpful birds and insects to act as natural pest control (like ladybirds who love to snack on aphids!). This method of farming means that, “on average, plant, insect and bird life is 50% more abundant on organic farms, and there are around 75% more wild bees” (Soil Association, With our environment struggling to cope with all of the damage we have caused, supporting organic farming is a direct way to help start the recovery.

Without the use of harmful chemicals in the growing process, we can rest assured that what we are consuming isn’t laced with chemicals that could be harmful towards our health too! A study by Newcastle University (2015) found that organic fruit and vegetables contained up to 60% more antioxidants than their non-organic equivalents, whilst a Cambridge University study (2014) found that pesticide residue was up to 4 times higher in non-organic crops! To us, it makes perfect sense to assume that farming with fewer toxic chemicals will create healthier, tastier food that we can trust will nourish our bodies and our environment.

Every little choice we make can have an impact on the world around us. By choosing to shop organic, you are making a positive choice for the planet!
