Hi! We are Alex and Beth, the founders of CORE!

Early in 2018 the seed for CORE was planted when our dreams of a more environmentally sound way to shop came together and blossomed into the idea of an organic, plastic-free, ethical grocery store in our home town of Leamington Spa! We were frustrated that the supermarkets had such a limited range of organic and/or plastic-free goods and although our local health food shops were more ethical, they were still full of unnecessary plastic packets! So, from there we began to plan, plan, plan in all of the free time we had and we were soon ready to take our first step at Warwick Market that very September. It was freezing cold, windy and rainy but the support and enthusiasm we received from the local people filled us with warmth and hope! Clearly our community had been waiting for this!

Over the following year we held stalls at: Warwick Market, Leamington Farmers Market, Stratford Market, Kenilworth Market, Canalside Community Farm and as many local Food Festivals and events as possible! - Maybe you saw us at one?! We met so many wonderful people who were also passionate about the values we were promoting and so our (literal) market research gave us confidence that an organic, zero-waste shop would go down really well in the local area!

Since November 2019, CORE has had its very own permanent spot in bricks and mortar, now on Regent Street in the heart of Leamington Spa Town Centre! It has been an amazing journey and we are so grateful to have had so much support from our local community in pursuing our dreams! <3

Although we loved our market stall, we can now offer a much larger range of organic foods and other ethical goods to make plastic-free shopping a breeze. We have fresh fruits and vegetables, a selection of cooking and dressing oils, all of the store cupboard essentials, such as; rice, pasta, flour, cereal, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices and lots of delicious chocolate! We also have refillable cleaning products, a selection of personal care products and other amazing eco goodies!

Here at CORE we offer a shopping experience that is 100% zero-waste for the customer, whilst we work hard to source and create an entirely waste-free supply chain!
